Why Did The Duck Cross The Road?.... To Prove That She's No Chicken!

Crossing the road is a real adventure here in Vietnam.  It takes bravery and skill and a little bit of blind luck.  It's amazing to watch people just step our into oncoming traffic and just wave their hand at the onslaught of motorbikes, cars and trucks and the vehicles just weave around them.  This 'no rules' thing just seems to work here.

Watch here as Chris crosses this relatively tame (compared to others) road.....

 ⬅️
She starts with the 'waiting for a break' technique.

➡️
Then she makes the decision to go for it.

⬅️
She looks left.... and right - because even if it's a one way street, you need to remember that the rules are - there are no rules - motorbikes will drive in any direction at any time.
➡️
Then she makes her move - stepping out into the traffic.
 ⬅️
She's keeping her eyes on the cars and motorbikes as she walks across.
➡️
You can see she strides with confidence and doesn't falter or hesitate.
And when there's an all clear, she makes a run for it to cover the last couple of metres.  Job well done!

  1. Well done Chris - but you should just look straight ahead, don't watch the traffic as you cross. They need to go around you, if you move to avoid them that's how an accident will happen.
