Earth Hour

Four years ago today, Jenny, my sister, Jodie and I were checking into a hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.... right on 8.30pm as the Earth Hour was happening around the world.

So we checked in cloaked in complete darkness with only tea light candles to see by.

This year we are back in Vietnam, this time in Nah Trang.

We celebrated the fabulous concept of turning lights and power off all over the world for an hour and over a beer discussed why Earth Hour isn't held monthly.... or weekly?

Just before 8.30pm we were sitting in a restaurant waiting for our meals to arrive and we all wondered how on Earth we were going to be able to see our meals when all the lights go out......

But as it turned out only some people/businesses in Nha Trang take Earth Hour seriously.  The hotel we were in turned off their outside lights and had only minimal lights on inside, however the street lights stayed on as did the lit up street decorations that adorn all the main streets.

Hopefully if was more successful elsewhere.
