We interrupt this blog for a very important announcement.......
The Pumas Boys Under 12b basketball team from Geraldton, Western Australia have won their first ever grand final against Hawks with a nail biting score of 20 - 19

This is Chris' son, Tommy's team and Chris is their coach. She didn't know that this division (under 12s) played a grand final as the fixtures were finished before her leaving date, so she was devastated to know that she wouldn't be there with them on this super exciting day, but thanks to Maree and Shane Kennedy we were able to follow the second half via FaceTime from our Nha Trang hotel.
This team has 3 young champions who have never played an official game of basketball before this season and 4 members of our illustrious group should have actually been in Under 10s! This makes their effort all the more special and Chris, as their dedicated, yet missing coach so very proud. We can't wipe the grin off her face!
Nerves were frayed and fists were pumped, there was clapping and cheering even thought we knew the boys couldn't hear us.
When we heard the great news we cracked open the champas - honestly, any excuse! and toasted a team of absolute champions.
Big thanks for Chris' husband, Nigel and her brother, Greg for filling in on the coaching duties, they obviously did a pretty good job.
You should all be so proud of yourselves.
Celebrate hard you Under 12s...... well, as hard as you can.
